Deborah livingston

Deborah Livingston is a meditation teacher from San Antonio, Texas. While trying to create a learning environment in her high school English classroom, she stumbled upon focused breathing. Teaching her students to sit still and just breathe led her to meditation. She saw the remarkable difference between the chaos of the school hallway and the quiet expectations for learning from just focusing on the breath. Her students even began asking for focused breathing whenever they were feeling anxious.

Deborah started her study of meditation and this resulted in her meditation practice. As her practice deepened, she was led to her teacher, Cyndi Lee of OM Yoga, www.cyndilee.com. Deborah completed all three levels of Meditation Teacher Training offered by Cyndi. In the Fall and early Winter of 2020/21, Deborah trained again with Cyndi in The Dharma of Engaged Yoga, which concentrated on meditation in the yoga studio. During the Covid pandemic, Deborah attended 3 Zoom meditation retreats led by Cyndi. She has also attended several of Cyndi’s meditation and yoga retreats in New Mexico, Colorado and Virginia. Deborah studied with Beryl Bender Birch and completed Yoga to Transform Trauma with Catherine Ashton.

Deborah led a monthly meditation practice at Alamo City Yoga. She has taught meditation to end-of-life oncology teens at Methodist Children’s Hospital through her work with Yoga Day SA. Deborah also serves on the board of Yoga Day SA, www.yogadaysa.org.

Deborah teaches mindfulness meditation, walking meditation, Lovingkindness meditation and firmly believes that meditation results in strength, stability, and clarity leading to calm peaceful abiding.
